hi
just wondering what places you have had great customer service. so much of what we talk about here is the lack of good customer service i thought it would be nice to post our positive experiences for a change.

my top choice is the building where you get your passports. the people there are always so nice, always willing to help you out, i think they are by far the nicest people i have ever dealt with.

next would be the scotia bank in downtown, the girls always have a smile and are so friendly. monica you trained them right.

office max is another one who has friendly people, and most of the time you can find people willing to help.

the post office in downtown christiansted is another great choice. always a hello and a smile

and finally the big k near fredericksted has a bunch of very nice people too.

what are your choices and why

People who live here won't believe this but I had to get Innovative Cable and DSL and telephone recently and the service was FANTASTIC. I had everything within a few days and they were very kind from the woman who signed me up to the man who delivered the box and hooked it up.

Amazingly, I also had a great experience when calling Innovative on STT to pay my bills this AM. The service rep. was great and I made it a point to tell her that this was the best customer service I have received from the company, thus far. She was pleasant, helpful and made sure all of my information was accurate. 🙂

On STT:

No complaints with the staff at the hospital. All very kind & professional.
The Toyota dealer. Really good, professional service every time I've used them & they were very nice & didn't rip me off.
Fresh Market in Lockhart Mall (or is it Four Seasons?) Everyone very helpful & nice there.
Ditto for Gourmet Gallery in Havensight.
Delly Deck.
The kids who work at Texas Pit BBQ in Wheatley Center.
Red Hook Mail Service.
The ladies at the front desk at Scotia Bank in Havensight.
The guys at the Pollyberg Texaco Station.

On STX, the past week or so ,
Mario's water delivery-good
LC Plumbing Supply-good
Gallows Bay hardware- poor
Target tire- good
IRB-fair
Dr. Prassards- good
ABC Janitorial and Pool supply-good

After writing this I realize I might be lowering my expectations.

Five stars to the IRB. I dropped off my return at the Sunny Isle branch around 5 PM on Thursday. I was promptly greeted at the door with a smile and politely directed upstairs. The lady at the table asked if she could help before I could say a word. She was friendly and smiled. The whole process took less than ten minutes.

speee1dy, if I didn't know better, I would swear that we went to different Office Maxs. I go there at least once a week and the service there ranges from poor to fair. The only exception has been the copy center. I drop off a lot of production work It's been my experience that the people that work there are prompt, friendly, and accommodating.

On St Thomas the blue ribbon goes to Chelsea Drugstore. From the heartfelt "Good morning!" when you open the door to the check-out, it is a pleasant experience. (tu):D

EE, you're so right about that one! Great place & good selections of other drugstore items. However, I dearly love the pharmacist at Drug Farm behind the hospital but I love going to Chelsea Drugs.

And beside, Trade, I can sing; "I went down to the Chelsea Drugstore...to get my prescription filled...I was standing in line with Mr. Jimmy...";)

Ran a bunch of errands yesterday on STX and really had pretty good service all around:
PO in Frederiksted
Ka-Ma-Kris Hardware
K-Mart in F'sted - floor staff really good, cashiers really slow
VI Cargo
Napoleons next to Carlos Furniture
Marshall & Sterling in Gallows Bay (I even mentioned at dinner how I was really impressed at the receptionist who was super friendly and really efficient juggling many things at once)

No wonder I was tired when we got home!

Need to get tags and registration for car yet . . . hope that goes well too 😉

Remember when Home Depot first opened? People were falling all over you offering to help. Now, IF you can find someone, it's usually "not my department, go to the service counter". And, of course, at the service counter..... well.....business as usual! The manager, Scott (if he's still there) is excellent, but his customer service style is definitely not trickling down to his employees.

But, this thread is supposed to be good stuff! So kudos, as always, to the checkers at Food Town. Always a smile and a greeting, plus the management is always very helpful when you can't find something. The deli in Food Town is the weak link. Never a smile or greeting from those ladies. As I type this, I'm just wondering why it's all of them, no exceptions, yet all the checkers are friendly. *-)

Well I had a different experience at Office Max this morning speee1dy. The manager greeted me at the door, my item was retrieved from the shelf by a sales clerk for me, and I was whisked to the front of the line. The cashier was friendly and apologized for the price but gave me her employee discount. Another clerk took my item to my car and refused a tip.

SERIOUSLY - my experience was completely different this morning. I got help finding for some oddball folders and the cashier smiled and was very friendly. That's more than I usually expect.

Innovative Cable on STT. We were not getting all the channels we ordered. The technician came to our place--it was a day earlier than they had said, but they called first to be sure someone was there. There were several small problems which he fixed and the thing works pretty well. He spent lots of time to get it working and was really nice. What a relief. I lay awake a couple of nights worrying about it--all for nothing. Don't you love it when a plan comes together??

On STX--

HH tire service for breaks and tires. I was amazed at how nice and quick they were with just a drop in.

Kiki's automotive across from Burger King. The men there super friendly and did everything to find out what was wrong and fix my car

C'sted post office are always friendly and super helpful

switching over from choice to innovative wasn't bad at all; the service guy was nice

license and registration wasn't so bad (though the last time I got a license was in brooklyn which is like one of Dante's circle of hell)

the seaplane people were really friendly the times I've been.

ditto marshall and sterling in town and gallows bay --excellent service
