Has anyone whose STX property was damaged in Maria arranged for someone (contractor usually) to do an estimate for dealing with an insurance adjuster on a homeowner's claim?
We have gotten them, but not in a lot of years, so do not know who might be doing them these days. If anyone has any suggestions as to a contact I would appreciate it.

Not sure of who. But anyone licensed can do the estimate and then you can get someone to do the work

The best estimates for an insurance claim are done with some software that specifies each and every item and allowed costs etc...and our estimates always become a negotiation with the insurance estimate, but it's been a lot of years since I had to get one on stx.. The norm is to pay a fee to the contractor who does the estimate.
