Later this year I will be furnishing a vacation rental house on St. John with furniture, kitchenware and assorted towels and bedsheets. We are going to look-in at Kmart at Tutu on St. Thomas. Where else should we look?

Home Again in Red Hook. What you might consider investing in is pillows or cushion covers covered in Sunbrella. Doesn't fade, wears like iron & washes like a dream. It's expensive but my couch & chair cushions have lasted 11 years with no signs of wear.

Sunbrella fabric is really great stuff. I just googled 'sunbrella' and found this web site which might give you some more information.

That's it. The stuff is wonderful & really outlasts other fabrics by a mile in this climate, plus the wear & tear you'll have from vacationers using your place. You'll pay a lot to start but it's well worth it in the long run.

Shob around for prices. It's even sold on ebay if you know the amount you'll need to cover your items.
