Are the Condos/Apartments on the Islands Furnished? Where is the best place on the island to look for one that is?

Are the condos on sapphire beach furnished?

Thanks Everyone!

Kandi: Most of the condos are furnished or at least partially furnished. Apartments within homes may or may not be. You just have to ask on a case-by-case basis. Also- look at the place! You might assume there is a stove, for example, when there isn't! I believe that Sapphire Beach is short-term rental only. You might be thinking of Sapphire Village, which is next door and does have longer term rentals.

Thanks East Ender for your help!

Yes, I deffinately plan on looking at the place before I commit. I'm just trying to get an idea of things before I go , so i know what direction to go in.

I think I might have been thinking of sapphire village now that you mention it, that seems to be where the condos are,but close to S.beach.

Do you mean the condos in St Thomas or the condos at Sapphire Village? Right now there is a bit of a shortage in long term rental for condos. For example, there is an ad running right now for a one bedroom at Point Pleasant- $775/week or $1375/on lease. Now if you can get $775 a week, you will probably try to get that, right? That takes some units out of long term, especially during season. Some condo associations have strict rules about renting, requiring 1 year leases, no short term etc. So I would say, St Thomas is probably higher than a lot of markets in the states.

As to cost within the St Thomas market, Sapphire Village seems to have good availability of 1 bedroom and studio units, which keeps the cost down. Cowpet and Anchorage, for example, have more 2 bedroom and 3 bedroom units. They may also allow owners to do shorter term rentals, like 3-6 months, although I am not sure about that. They do seem to get transients. And you are correct, Sapphire Village is next to the beach, behind the marina. It has the best restaurant in the Sapphire complex, Azure!!

East Ender, do you currently know of anyone renting a studio at Sapphire Village? Thanks,
Patrick
