i see there are alot of people from michigan on st. thomas just wondering about illinois?we get the same pleasant weather in dec,jan,feb, as the michigan people just wondering if any illinois people made a run for the islands???

Hi Kenny,
My hsuband and I and our 2 kids are from Illinois. What part of Illinois are you from? We are from Algonquin. We are not on St. Croix yet, but are moving there. We have to for our one yr old for the climate.
Are you living on the Island?

hi we are from coal city it is about 25 miles south of joliet there is braidwood ,wilmington,coal city theyu are all old coal mining towns we are bouilding a house on st.thomas why are you moving to the islands any certain reason? or you just sick of the cold ? take care

Hi Kenny
Sorry I did not write sooner have been real busy. I am familiar with coal city. We have to actually have to move. Our youngest son 1yr was born with a very rare skin disease. He has to be in a cliamte as it is in St. Croix. Summer here is not too bad for him, but as soon as fall hits he goes downhill very fast. So we are listening to his Dr's orders. Whatever it takes for him to be comfortable, no pain and thrive we will do.
Don't know if you ever watch TLC or Discovery Health but they have both ran a show called "My skin could kill me"
That is what our son has.
I know we sure will not miss the cold either.
Thats nice that your able to build a house on the Island. We thought about that but did not even know where to begin, as I am sure we would not be able to use our friend from here that build houses, due to hurricane standards. So why are you moving??
