Franks and Charlotte Tamales

I thought Frank's last day was today. It was in the papers last week. No idea about Charlotte Tamales.

We were the last customers at Franks when it closed on Tuesday at 6pm. Hubby is devastated. Anyone have a good recipe for sprouted wheat bread?

I noticed a week or so ago that Charlotte Tamales was gone. No sign to indicate they went elsewhere either. Sad, b/c they were actually quite good. If you get desparate you can go the one in the beach hotel (next to VIPA).

Franks........NOT Franks bakery right? Say it isn't so!

Alas, c'est vrais, Frank's Bakery is no more.

I have heard that Charlotte Tamales owners are looking for a new location.

I was told Charlotte Tamales landlord really jacked up their rent so they had to move. What a shame but I hope they get another soon.

Sad about Frank's. He was really a good corporate citizen & the loss of his bakery really leaves a hole in that type of business.

What!!!!!! Franks?!? Why? They had great sandwich's at lunch, best bread, best doughnuts, best cakes, cookies, pies, service, etc. I feel like buying roses and laying it at the door. That really sucks. Charlotte Tamales was very good too. We ate their quite often for lunch as my husband worked around the corner from them. That sucks too. I know you may not care, but we missed Hard Rock Cafe too. Sorry, I know it is commercial, but replacing them with a Wendy's was not my idea...

Bella Blu won't be going anywhere, right? I know somebody who keeps them in business... My husband ate there recently and said it was really good. I have yet to go there, but will! People support the good food businesses! Doesn't help my diet much, but I will support whenever I can!

So why did Frank's close or does anyone know?

According to the paper, it was partly due to the rising cost of doing business (electricity, etc.) You should be able to find the story on the Daily News site.

AH MAN! I am bummed! My husband and I would some mornings hop in the dinghy in the early morning and race over to Franks for chocolate eclairs, coffee cake, donuts..........oh man.........I WILL SO MISS FRANKS!

Onika, Do they have any restaurant in that location? Chris said that there a bunch of sushi places open that are new. I assume you have been out there trying them out? You should do a food review. 😉 He enjoyed Wikked as well. I think he just ate the whole time he was on island...
