Some stores post their weekly ads online. Here's the site for one popular store, Plaza Extra.

Interesting.

In my time in Boulder I noticed that prices there were pretty high also.

We'd love to see many of those prices here in VI, if not all!

Alana,

The sale prices in the VI are lower than some in Aurora

Thanks for the research findings. I've mostly lived in expensive areas so I've learned to be flexible and just give up the stuff that's ridiculously priced.

My daughter and husband live there. I like it, especially up in the Flatirons.
Coming from a small place (here) it feels comfortable up there for them (and me).

would love to see a comparison of a store that is not notoriously high priced. safeway is one of the higher priced grocers in the states. maybe try walmart supercenter and then post the prices

speee1dy,

I'll tell you what, next week I'll go shop Wal-mart. Safeway is my normal store, shopping at H-Mart (asian store) can be 10% lower and WholeFoods, Sunflower Market is more expensive.
Our big stores are Safeway, King Soopers. Wal-Mart and target have some stores that have groceries.

i used to love safeway and didnt care if the prices were higher. their quality is what was important. down south in the keys it was publix where i mostly shopped. cleaner and better imo.

the super walmart where my mom lives in az is awesome. clean and well organized. the only really nice sw i have been to. the one i went to in puerto rico was terrible.

i would honestly love to see the comparison between ours/sw

Whoa! Not that much of a difference except on meat and some produce. We who live here should be doing the happy dance!

Denvertired must live next door to Wally and is able to roller skate around the store. Talk about fast!

BTW, were all the tuna cans you priced in Aurora the now very tiny 5 oz can of light not albacore? Wally looks suspiciously high. Maybe it's in olive oil?

I did my best to keep the comparison fair, I was looking at the 5oz can in water.

We can play again next week.

I live in a great neighborhood in aurora, it's less than a mile to almost anything... except a beach

I think tuna at another store is about $1.75. The price fluctuates greatly from time to time, but I thought tuna was just high here.

Next time price paper and cleaning supplies. Oh, and pet food. 🙂

Ms411,

Let's put together a shopping list and we both price it out. This can be a huge help to people.
My big question, what is the price on Vodka.

Scott

You're on, Scott! I'll give you a list tomorrow. I'll include some local organics and seafood since I'll be going to Market Square tomorrow. Somebody should have kale, eggplant, tomatoes, calabasa/kobacha. You should have those in Aurora.

Vodka specifics, please!
