and it just gets more confusing

The Free Press as we know it operates with impunity afforded by the the 1ST Amendment! No note of allegation required. Don't mix Journalistic ethics and policy of a news media Paper/TV to trump free press rights. Many Reporters have been jailed only to be released by a higher Court for their refusal to participate in a controlled press.
what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive
The question, who is deceiving?? one or both
Guilty or innocent, even with the revised statement, he comes across as very stupid. It may be a setup, it may not, but even if it was if he had a brain he just would've shut the door and called the cops when she showed up rather than pull a gun and then "drive her home." If this is how he handles a situation like this then he is unfit to serve as my "representative."

stcmike, i have no idea what you are talking about. i can observe objectively and watch this play out, it is my right.
Anita, what are you talking about I haven't made any referenced to you.
Fonce's hearing scheduled for today was postponed
Once again I state its time to clean house, vote them all out. Otherwise continue to support the corruption in the system. Its as if the citizens are prostitutes and the politicians are the pimps. You only exist to support their 85k a year salaries.
Mike,
The sweeping generalization that every single one of our politicians is corrupt and needs to be booted out is unfair. There's obviously plenty of corruption, but there are also people that work hard to do what they think is right.
Even if they were all voted out, what then? Many would be replaced by more opportunistic and corrupt people. Nothing will change until good, honest people are willing to step into the public eye and sacrifice their time and money to run for office. You seem to feel very strongly about changing our representatives. Are YOU willing to step up and do something instead of just complaining and calling for unspecified change?
To all who criticize the VI elected officials I have one question.
Are you registered to VOTE?
Overall it's a good thing that change happens slowly, otherwise we'd all be prey to every scheming carpetbagger to stumble on the USVI.
We live in a place where people get elected on the merits of a fish fry, and the only way that is going to change is through education on a generational time scale. Why do you think the DofEd is in such poor shape despite unspent millions in federal dollars each year? Because an educated electorate is a huge political liability.
If you want to make a difference, take the time to get educated, and share the joy and empowerment of education with your community.
We can blame our elected officials for many things, but they did not elect themselves.
to sims, I've had experience in politics (the stories I could tell you) that is why I say they all must go. I agree there are some that are doing the best they can but unfortunately the only way to shake things up is to get rid of all of them. All incumbents must go that means locally and nationally otherwise they will never get the message
