FL Lawyer moving to VI
I am a 67-year-old semi-retired attorney with a small private practice. I have been a member of the Florida Bar for 32 years and, although I do not practice in federal court, am admitted to practice before the US Supreme Court and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. I am Martindale-Hubbell rated BV.
My wife has a job opportunity in St. Thomas in which she is extremely interested. We can only consider this if I can practice there part time.
My question: What are the requirements for admission to the Virgin Islands Bar Association? I have not been able to find this online and what I have found seems geared to keep lawyers in my situation out.
Actually the lawyers I have met seem to be strictly stateside people handling real estate law. I would have to assume the majority of criminal lawyers are west indian.
I will ask one of my friends what it takes, and see if I can get back to you on this. Hopefully someone else here might have some info.
Hello Bill,
Have you visited
There is a section about admission to the VI Bar and other info.

Thank you Stu. I got a response to an email to a USVI lawyer so you need not go to the trouble. It looks harder than bringing my car in - if that can be possible. :-]
