I am hearing mixed messages about fireworks this year. Is there a planned fireworks show in Frederiksted this year?

I am hearing mixed messages about fireworks this year. Is there a planned fireworks show in Frederiksted this year?

I have heard on 93.5FM Talk Radio (STX) several times recently that there are no fireworks this year in Fredericksted. Reason - money.

The Avis today confirms no Frederiksted fireworks due to budget problems. But they say you can watch them when St John does theirs. Seriously.
