Financial aid at UVI?
Does anyone know if UVI- both St. Thomas and St. Croix campuses award decent financial aid packages for transfer students? Does anyone know of any transfer scholarships they award?
UVI is a typical HBCU in the United States system and part of the MidAtlantic States Accrediting organism.
Pell grants and other federal and private grants, scholarships, student loans (Stafford and other) are applicable to UVI.
UVI scholarships are listed here: http://test.uvi.edu/enrollment/financial-aid/financial_aid-scholarships.aspx
also listed are:
There are several ways aside from the completion of the FAFSA application that can provide financial assistance to students. Below are examples of Civic Groups as well as Community Service Organizations that provide financial aid assistance to current as well as prospective UVI students.
The St. Croix Lions Club
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority
Future Business Leaders of America
Rotary Clubs
The Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands
Barren Spot Fun Club
Virgin Islands Board of Education (VIBE)
College Access Challenge Grant Program (CACGP)
These are but a few clubs and organizations. Contact clubs, organizations, and civic groups in your community to find out if they provide scholarships and or grants for higher education studies.
but there are tons of options. It would be best to go see the guidance counselor who handles scholarships on campus to ask. Also search

and other databases of private scholarships for Greek-Americans, Chess players, or whatever.
