Finally all coming together . . . Maybe!
Well, my final retirement is coming up at the end of this year, certain family health problems have cleared up, and we are now tentatively scheduled for a couple of weeks on STX during the Christmas Holidays. Maybe, just maybe, this will be the visit (our 3rd in past 4 years) that tips the scales in favor of a "permanent" move (trying to get the wife to feel 100% comfortable with the idea). I have been working since I was 13, and I'll be 61 in January. No idea what it will feel like to really be "retired." But, ready to give it a try and find out!
Steve
Stxdreamer, I'm excited for you! Now you can pick up all those hobbies you never had time for... diving, snorkeling, beach walking, volunteering, porch sitting, rum sipping, etc. Hope you and your wife have a fantastic time in December, and I hope she leaves feeling 100% ready. 🙂
WOW, must be great to finally & live a little!
I don't know how it feels like either(I've also worked since I was 13!).
While walking on the beach, try not to trip over the the folks who visit everyday, for their entire lazy lives, as they may sue you for your home/retirement(their pissed off their only getting additional free health care...(they already had that!).
Please enjoy your retirement(it sounds like you earned it)!
Please let me know what it feels like to get a check you didn't have to go in to work for(nothing negative, (I mean Social security or pensions you paid for/into).
And, how does it feel to lounge in that recliner all day????
Yes Steve, please don't trip over me as you walk on he beach at Cane Bay. lol
See you in December. Linda
Steve,
Wonderful! 😎 On Monday, after 7 years in post-Soviet Europe, I arrive STX for permanent retirement.
All the best,
Edward
Good Luck! I am here now for my 3 week PMV. One full day yesterday and if I can find a house out of the wind, I'm in. The hubs was ready as well, just needed me to be on board.
Out of the wind? It's been unusually breezy so consider days when the wind isn't howling. Breeze is good but can be annoying in some locations.
It's tricky isn't it? I mean.....you want a location that gets some breezes....but not constant-blow-me-down-make-my-house-vibrate-and-windows-howl-I can't-get-no-relief-mommy-make-it-stop winds.
Yup, that's exactly what I'm getting here these days.
