Filmed on St Croix - 1960 Sci Fi B Grade Movie (maybe C)
Love this!
Lol! The production values were pretty low but the acting wasn't half bad! I wonder if this movie is where they got the idea of Ripley knocking the alien into the airlock with the exoskeleton loader at the end of Aliens! LOL?!!?
I sent a link to all my friends in Judiths Fancy.
I believe that is the Judiths Fancy ruins at the climactic end of the movie.
All I have to say is that the opening scene where the bulldozer is on the beach and they're blowing up the reef/explosions in water off beach would never be permitted today.
Beeski, I was wondering where that was. Does it still look like that?
I just looked at it. I am no expert, but I am pretty damn sure it is the ruins in Judith's Fancy also. But the strip of beach where they bring the dinosaurs up from the water looks like only a strip of land . You can see the water behind them. I'm not sure where that could be.
Shawshank Redemption closing scene on the beach...filmed at Sandy point, St. Croix.

I compiled a list of movies shot in the VI, of should I say with scenes shot in the VI? I forgot to include The Bachelor in my list of tv shows. Need to look for that one.
Closing beach scene from Trading Places shot at Davis Bay ( now Carambola).
There were a few shots in downtown Christiansted in which the guy was running through town looking for the boy. One of the shots looks like around the market.
... also that one episode of Miami Vice, filmed in Christiansted and along South Shore Road.

Don't forget Weekend at Bernie's Part 2 filmed on St. Thomas.
This film was great fun! We watched with no sound & made up the dialogue (mystery science theater 3000 style)........ this could easily become a cult classic!
