I tried to get it to take an address here on STX but it wouldn't take it. Then I tried Paradise Freight's address in Miami and it wouldn't take that either.
They must not have satellites in orbit near our latitude yet.
Oh well...the wait continues.
So after reading your reply I went and typed in my address again, it worked..I then tried two other addresses and it didn't. I then tried mine again, but this time it didn't work.
I think they are only allowing a certain number of uses per day to sign up?
Keep trying your address throughout the week. It should work at some point.
I typed in our address again, it worked. It took me through to the order page. I am using a Chromebook so I cant cut and paste the image here....this is what it says though...
Order Starlink
Due Today
$99.00
Thanks for the info!
I had to use the 'Plus Code', but was able to get on the list the morning.
Thanks a bunch for this...I was able to sign up using the Plus Code.
I put in my deposit so we'll see what happens next.
When you go to the sign up link, it will tell you show to get the Plus Code via Google Maps.
I was confused at first but figured it out quickly.
I just put a deposit down, hopefully sooner than 2022, I know they just put up 60 satellites the other day and read that they need at least 3k more to be effective. They have 1400 right now.
SpaceX just completed another funding round the other day and raised an additional $850 million.
There is some talk of eventually spinning off SpaceX and/or Starlink from Tesla into a separate publicly traded company.
Its all good news for high speed internet here in the VI!

Not to nitpick but SpaceX is a private company and not related to Tesla (a public company) in any way legally. Based on the pricing of the recent private capital raise ($850M) the company is valued at $74B, a staggering achievement by the entire SpaceX team.
An interesting review of StarLink's beta - lots of open sky needed and it may be a while before it provides stable enough service for work related needs.
(I'm still signed up and on the wait list and planning to pick it up when offered)

We just received an email from Starlink that indicates they expect to have service available in the VI in 2023.
Supply chain issues have delayed production of the updated receivers.
Those who have signed up should receive something similar soon.
If you haven't already set up an account password, you may have to go back through your emails to find the one that invites you to set up an account and click the link to get a new password link sent to you.

That's great news! I don't know if it's true or not but i also saw a YouTube video this week where they were saying something about a company coming in from Puerto Rico to lay fiber. Dunno how valid it is, but at least we know StarLink is for real!
I just received my email from StarLink and confirmed my order with them. Equipment should ship within 2 weeks.
Once installed, I'll post and compare it to my current BBVI service.
@stxdreaming1 Me too, in Peterborg area. Got it today and paid the amount. I am assuming being on the island probably (not many people) so atleast initially I am expecting 1GBPS let us see whats on the offer. If it is capped at 50MBPS then it is a real waste of money.
received my email as well, with all the bbvi issues as of late, it couldn't happen at a better time. BBVI is just as bad Customer service wise as there were before liberty took over. I don't know where your getting those speed numbers and cap info, I'm on a FB group page and the speeds are typically in the mid 100's to mid 200's and there is no cap.
We've had Starlink here in Florida since the fall and will have it on STX, as soon as or house purchase closes, I confirmed the order today. That being said, when we moved here in 2019 we had CentryLink 10X slower than BBVI @ 3megs dn and 1meg up so we were really happy to get Starling and it was a real selling point for the buyers of our house here in Florida.
See you SOON!!!!!!
