I'm going to STX tomorrow and would love to know what some of your favorite restaurants are: small local ones, ethnic varieties and or high end. What about nightlife?

Tutto Benne's, Bachus, Gertrude's, Duggan's Reef, Cheeseburgers in Paradise, Savant for starters. St. Croix has many great restaurants!

Try Luncheria, A little mexican food outside eating place. We're from AZ. and was quite surprised at how good it was. Aslo The Bombay Club. Try cane Bay as well.

Another one to consider--the Terrace at the Buccaneer Resort. Imho it's great if you want a full scale meal with a wonderful view of Christiansted and the evening sunset. We found the food to be excellent, as was the service. Only downer is the price, but not really worse than other "high quality" restaurants on STX.

Rum Runners on the Boardwalk in downtown Christiansted. Or go to the west end (Frederiksted) to The Sunset Grill. Out east is Duggans. All great places!

Add Kim's for some of the best west Indian. If there's better, let me know.

You're probably on island right now, so this won't help you on this visit, but I'll add my recommendations anyway. 🙂

My favorites are Tutto Bene (great pork chops, wonderful service, nice lady's rooms), Duggan's (every meal has been very good) and the Cultured Pelican (fantastic Sunday brunch - I recommend the Pelican Eggs).

H20 has all-you-can-eat Alaskan King Crab on Friday nights. Full Moon Bar has all-you-can-eat boiled shrimp on Fridays also. Both are fun places to eat. Especially if Splash is playing at Full Moon - get there early, the place fills up fast!

I've always had a great meal and sevice at Elibeth's at the Palms. It's at the Palms at Pelican Cove Beach resort on North Shore west of C'sted. Beachside Cafe is also recomended out near F'sted, 1 1/2 miles west.

For a "very" local vegetarian meal (only one large table at the rear of a small local health food store), you can try Sica's restaurant in Frederiksted. I had the tastiest tofu dish ever, served by a very nice family from Dominica, with grandchildren who came out to say hello to us.

To combine dinner with sunset setting and live jazz, on a deck at the beach, check the schedule at Beachside Cafe (upscale but not too expensive)... maybe Wed or Thurs nights. This is where the West End webcam is (still?) located. Also, Under the Blue Moon in Frederiksted, with harbor views, more frequent live music and seems more social mixing.
