Fact or Mis-Information?

It is going to be interesting to see how the new governor and crew shakes out the corruption. See the article about Simmonds being arrested for taking $900,000 from the government. I have heard there are many more arrests to come. Along with that may come a cleaning up of the police. I am the continual optimist. That said, I have been here for seven years and have experienced some of the racism but it is subtle. I have found that a sense of humor goes a long way and one can get bad service anywhere. I must say though I am surprised when I go to the states, sit at a restaurant and am served within twenty minutes. I have lived here so long I have forgotten what good service is.

USVI had 43 murders last year, according to the Daily News. At 110,000 population that is about 39.1 murderes per 100,000. For a small population of 110,000 this is VERY high.

As I have wrote before, I know of how much crime is purported by the police there, and I know personally of how much crime in the USVI goes unreported. Yes, I am a x-con, and I have done many things I wish I never did.

Betty, tell your husband to watch out for Washington. He is horribly corrupt - I know this because I have seen him not only be paid off, but I have participated in illegal activities with him.

Are you publicly saying Betty's husband is on the take? That's my question to you - answer that straight up and we'll take it from there.

I am sorry Becky, I am NOT saying Betty's husband is on the take. I believe, more than likely, he is a strait shooter. I was simply giving advice on who to watch.

I read noone's remark to Betty as a caveat about a corrupt individual named Washington, not as a suggestion that Betty's husband is corrupt. Maybe there's some STX subtext that I'm missing but that's what it sounds like way over here 🙂

Thank you, noone - on re-reading, I see what you are saying......I thought you meant something entirely different, like watch out for Washington (as in D.C.) because you had been in on bad deals with Betty's husband. I apologize - thank you for explaining - but let's let this one die....it has all the makings of being very ugly....and Betty's husband is about as law-and-order as anyone I've ever met, so my old Southern redneck reared up - please excuse my outburst.

I agree with dontie - The personal pronoun "he" refers to the individual called Washington. Easy to be confused.

This is really reaching for me, but I can name many individuals, right up to the Chief of Police that I have been involved with such disgusting things as murder. Yeah, that is right, I can name the time to within 5 minutes, date, and location, including one senator who was involved.

I have over extended myself; and am risking my own life. I can only hope for my friends protection.

I probably should talk to Betty's husband, but I cannot risk my friends.

Hes not really doing "Washington" too much harm. Is that a first name or last name or a nick name as soooo many poeple here go by that.
