Looking for help with locating an ext/stay. I plan on staying for about 5-6 weeks to get a feel of the island life. Also what would be the best for transportation, rent for 6 weeks or buy a clunker ? Thanks you to all those who answer.

Hello CB,

You might stay at a small inn/hotel in Christiansted, try and get a special rate for the extended stay. I would say rent a car for the 5 weeks, again try and get a special rate.

I also have been trying to find the same thing. I know "somewhere" I saw a 3-4 story property that had weekly/monthly rentals. Seems like it was in the main part of Christinasted, a longer looking building. Can't find it any more. Also some time ago someone on here said they had a cottage they rented montly for around $1000-1200.

I'm trying to schedule two trips to scout out buying a property for a permanent move, condo, small house.
Thanks in advance.

Try the Pink Fancy (www.pinkfancy.com) They will happily quote a rate for a month or more. It is in downtown C'Sted, and David and Motassem could not be nicer. A beautiful place -- you can walk everywhere. They frequently have long-term guests. Very highly recommended.

Hey CB,
My husband relocated here to St Croix 6 weeks before I did to look for work and a place for the dog and I. He stayed at Casa St Croix in downtown Christiansted on East Street up on the hill and it was pretty big for a studio. He liked how close it was to everything, the only drawback was it was kind of noisy at night, but hey, it was in the middle of everything, in season. He found it with Dorothy at American Sales and Rentals. He rented a car for a week and then bought a "vintage" car cause he was staying for the long run. We all are here now and love it, hope that helps.

Hi!

Mill Harbour Condos has rentals (weekly/monthly). Beach front, bar/restaruant, tennis courts, parking, swimming pool, common laundry ... I've lived in a 2 bedroom ($1,000/mo.) and I now live in a 3 bedroom ($1500/mo.) I like it ... I've lived here for over 8 months. Approx. 5 minutes from C'sted.

Right next door there is Colony Cove Condos and next to that Sugar Beach Condos ... I think they have the same type of deals.

Contact Info: (Mill Harbour Condos)

RE/MAX Rentals @ Mill Harbour
340-713-8372 (ask for Deb)

I believe they have a website with virtual tours of the condos ... but I do not have the web address handy. Sorry!

Good Luck!

Jen,

Do you ever feel unsafe at Mill Harbor? We are looking at a condo at Colony Cove to eventually live in full time. Do you have any idea how many owners actually live in Mill Harbor and Colony Cove? I know there are over 20 units in Colony Cove that are for sale. This sounds like a bad sign to me but my husband is ready to sign on the dotted line. Next thing he'll want me to go to work! Watch out!

I haven't seen the virtual tour but I did see some outdoor pictures. It looks part of the complex is in the water. Is it?
