Enployment
I am considering movine to St . Thomas at the end of May. I need a job. I am scuba certified and a great fisherman and would love a job on a boat in some fasion.
I also have been bartender and a manager of a bar in Texas. For the last 8 years I have been a General Contracter in Austin and we build homes as well as commerical projects. I just want an oppertunity to make a living in USVI Im not expecting to make a ton of money at first, I am just looking for a chance and I know the rest will come. If there is any thing that someone thinks I could assist them with please ask them to e-mail me or call 512-801-2382.

It's been said here many times, but I'll say it again. Unless you have a VERY special skill (Nurse, Doctor, Pharmacist) you will probably not be able to secure a job until you are on-island and can look a prospective employer in the eye. Too often someone says they are coming and neve do. Employers won't bother with you from off-island.
Sad but usually true.
Micheal,
With your skill set you will have no problem finding a job on STT, just depends on which field you want to pursue.
There are too many construction projects going on here to list but if you get in contact with the contractors they may not offer you a job on the spot but it will be here when you get here.
Boats are always looking for help with charters and certified scuba foks such as yourself.
Either schedule a Pre move visit or just show up with enough money to get you by for 3-4 months.
The boat I currently run will be looking for crew come end of may. Its one of the busiest day boats here, and will be the busiest come summertime. I'm leaving, as is the rest of the crew, so they will be looking. The sooner you get here the better your chances, so hurry up.
