I moved to St Croix last July 2010 with my husband who is working at the refinery and have been trying to find a nursing job with no luck. I am a RN and Respiratory Therapist looking for anything to just get me out of the house a few days a week. I have tried the hospital, employment office,etc... and would appreciate it if anyone has any other avenues that I can try. I will take full time or part time. Thanks

Even though you're not temporary, I wonder if it might help to get your foot in the door using a travel nursing company? Many of the nurses at the hospital use Worldwide.... something. I can't remember the full name of the company, but I know it's Worldwide, if that helps at all. You can do up to a year-long contract through them, or I think as little as 13 weeks if you just want to try something out before making a bigger commitment.

Also, if you haven't already, make sure you actually go in person to the hospital, office, etc.

Good luck!

If you are willing to do home visits, I'd bet Continuum Hospice and Seaview Home Care could be part-time friendly. Otherwise, come on over here to St Thomas, we'll find a spot for you!;)
