emergency medical technician/heavy equipment service
I have been working as an EMT for nearly 6 years. I was wondering about how to go about looking for a job in the Virgin Islands. Are EMT's hired through the hospital or is there a private company that hires them? Anyone know about the demand for a job such as this? My husband services heavy equipment and we were also wondering about if there are jobs available in that field. Thanks for any and all information!!

Pinnacle is the service company that provides EMTs for the Hovensa Refinery on STX. Turner is the Heavy Equipment provider for Hovensa.
I sell medical equipment and supplies here in the VI...and EMS is one of my accounts...PM me....
The EMTs are under the Health Department, not the hospital. The pay is likely not what you receive in the states.
The pay is a lot better there, I'm sure, as I am a volunteer here. 😀
Do 'volunteers' there have to buy their own bandages, syringes, tourniquets, gloves, etc.? How 'bout gas for the ambulance? Do you have to buy your own defibs, monitors and other equipment? Well....here you will find that, even though the pay is low...you DON'T have to buy any of this stuff, either! Haha! Had ya scared for a second, there, didn't I? Haha! Sorry, it's early and my coffee hasn't kicked in yet to make me have a normal sense of humor! Actually the reason for this post is to give you the e-mail address for Dr. Selwyn Mahon, EMS Medical Director : viems1@gmail.com. That's where EMS resumes should be sent. Have a great day! And good luck!
Marty--yes, you definitely had me scared there!! 😮 I tell ya, my heart must have dropped to my toes when I read that....lol! Thank you very much for the information, and I love your sense of humor! Thanks again!
