EDA "stalling" on releasing names of delinquent borrowers...
Many people on this board predicted this was going to happen... The EDA "chief" is making excuses not to release the names of the delinquent borrowers... After all, it is the taxpayers' money that is used for those loans... This person was "barking out loud" the names would be released after the audit... Well, all bark no bite...

Public information.........It requires disclosure since it is our tax dollars going into all these pockets, particularly those in elected office, past and present. Name the names, what they owe and how long they've owed. Is there to be no end to the constant thievery?
That is what happens when you have the fox guarding the hen house.
An update on the list regarding the "honorable" senators and hi-profile residents... Not a surprise, of course...

When BHO, DOJ, FBI, SOS and NSA blantantly violate the law, the follower's believe they can use the same tactic's and get away with it! USVI public officials and employees learn from the master.......there is simply NO penalty for lying and thieving anymore. It is a culture that is destroying the moral fabric of society and the leader's of "whatever" believe they have nothing to fear!
It's deplorable that the EDA will not make those names and amounts owed, including interest, available to the public.
We deserve to know who these deadbeats are and how much of OUR money they owe.
I notice, now, that our Senators have been elected/re-elected, the whole concept of "transparency" has gone out the window once they took their seats.
What happened to the freedom of information act? Guess it does not apply here.

Alana, I have a Freedom of Information Act request on a different subject that has been stalled for 6 months in DC.
I guess it does not apply anywhere when it comes to Government.
You'll get your information, just fill this out in triplicate and we will get back to you.
Ten thousand angry people outside government house demanding names might do the trick.
The VI government has looted its people in every way to enrich themselves. DPNR head was running the cocaine. The crooked government has, stolen the money and now VI bonds have been downgraded. Soon VI will declare bankruptcy and the pensions, everything will be wiped out like Detroit. Be ready for some angry people storming government house demanding names. I guess that's why NSA is around.
SydSol...although I agree with you...you're dreaming! Uber complacent Virgin Islanders would never stand up to their leaders. They will never bite the hand that feeds them and why would they?
For 40 years, the majority have lived happily on food stamps, free WAPA, subsidized housing and other government hand-outs. They only way to get them interested in protesting is to take away the freebies.
But...that ain't gonna happen anytime soon!

I second that!

SydSol get a load of this one...

I know a convict has the benefit of rehab and a right to re-integrate into society.. but, IMHO, if that person worked for the government, if he/she was convicted, he/she should NOT be allowed to work for the people and the public ever again... Once you break that oath, that is it!
