Anyone know what id's are required now for a new vi driver's license? Lost the new york license, all I have is a expired id card from nyc. But isn't the dmv registered in the network now? help please?

You will need an original social security card and a passport. If you don't have a passport there are other options but the SS card is a must.
You probably will have to take both the written and road test if you can't produce a valid stateside license. If there is any way you can get a replacement NY license do so.

I just got my license her after driving illegally for 9 years...I did it with my SS card, voter's registration card and birth cert. Had to take the written and road tests....no big deal. But, hey! I'm finally legal! Yay!

An ORIGINAL social security card can't be stressed enough. No copies. They are sticklers about this.

I have carried my original social security card around in my wallet since I first got it when I was about sixteen years old and got my first job. That was in 1969!!! That card is almost 40 years old.
