Driver Handbook 2015
I know. I said it already. The point is to drive here with a stateside license until they're told otherwise. Even if they're pulled over for an offense the PD (LOL) doesn't know when they arrived or how long they've been on island.
The problem you run in to is that the registration more than likely is in the owners name. Vehicles can be registered on a stateside license as long as it hasn't expired but the registration date will still be there. Instant calendar. Hmmmm
My neighbors in NY lived on Long Island and both cars registered in Florida. They went to Fla. for the winter and drove on their NY licenses. No way to know when they arrived and for how long. Hmmmmm.

Not a good gotcha baseline at all, since it's legal to live stateside while owning a car here. I did that for 7 years.
I'll give you a bit on that but if the pd want to give you a hard time on issue vs. residence time I would almost always bet on the pd winning as if you wanted to claim otherwise you better have a great paper trail. Much easier to "lose" a license and have a backup for babylon and one to turn in here. Why poke the goose? I would rather enjoy my time than worrying about "if" they found out. Whatever works for whomever is doing it. We can only make suggestions.
Maybe you can explain how to prove when someone arrived at their home in another state after driving there. Toll receipts?
