Any place on STX or ST sell drip irrigation supplies.
Also, what variety of tomato do you grow?
Day length being so constant we in Belize had the best luck with the shorter day-length varieties, smaller but abundant. In areas where water is an issue drip is the only way to grow.

A neighbor had drip irrigation. His cistern went dry and he filled it. The cistern was dry again the next day because the drip irrigation leaked. If you install drip irrigation be sure to check it regularly, and don't leave it on unattended when you go off island.

I cannot imagine anyone knowing they live on cistern water being SO CARELESS!
Not once but twice??? They are very simple systems, on/ off.

Another idea may be to acquire one of those "plastic" cisterns from like Home Depot or something (rather than utilizing existing cistern or building new higher cost material cistern), putting a 'float' in it that would disengage the irrigation if cistern is empty. I dunno. Just thinking outside the box....or thinking outside the cistern in this case. This way you wouldn't be jeopardizing your household water resources in case something fouls up with the irrigation. Another thing to mention is that our neighbor has all his grey water 'connected' into his irrigation cistern/system.....totally separate system than his household.

That ain't no drip system, sounds more like a flood system!

The neighbor's drip system was always on and set to drip very slowly. The first time the cistern was empty he assumed it was because of our dry spell, not because of a leak. This neighbor (You know who it is EastEnder!) travels off island frequently and now has someone who checks his irrigation system regularly. Fortunately a cistern is a fixed cost to refill. Leaving a drip system unattended during a lengthy trip when you pay for city water could get mighty costly.
