Domino Club robbery?
Hey all,
was watching the news today and heard a blip about a robbery at Domino Club over the weekend. Anyone heard what day I time?
Sunday night around midnight.

I heard that the guy that was shot saw them before they got in the bar and was trying to kick some a$$. I also heard his wound was in the leg and that the bullet grazed him.
Get used to this type of activity...it will only get worse in the coming months.
They should have given them beer's and let the pig out!
they get hit often
I was there until nearly 11:30 PM and left soon after Kurt Schindler wrapped up for the night. I didn't know anything had happened until someone asked on Facebook if I was OK since they knew I had been there.. The last Sunday of the month is their biggest $$ night. It's the best night to be there when Kurt's performing since you know it will be a good crowd... but that also makes it potentially the worst night to be there when things like this happen.
Glad we left at 10:30.
When we go we usually try to leave a bit early.
Seems like this happens after the music stops at the end of the night.
I heard there was about 50 people still in the bar when it happened.

The linked report from the St Croix Source quoted, "at least five customers". 😀
Wouldnt it be wise to have someone stop by the club every few hours and quietly pick up whatever cash had been accumulated?
I'm hoping they do this already since someone suggested they get jacked regularly.

Usually those who "hit" a restaurant/bar do plenty of surveillance beforehand and anyone who came in regularly to pick up money would soon be spotted. Best way I found was to regularly remove cash and credit card slips from the till and stash it in places (which were changed regularly), leaving enough in the drawer to not arouse suspicion. Such lessons are hard learned and it's not always possible to stay ahead of the game but you can minimize your risk by changing your routines so that they're not totally predictable.
Most of the restaurant owners I know have told me that almost all the register holds at the end of the night is credit cards slips - that few people pay cash - and that they usually don't even have enough cash left over to pay the staff the money they are owed for all the gratuities left on the credit cards. Many servers have mentioned this to me as well - that most of their tips are now received on on their paychecks instead of nightly because there are so few cash payments during the night.
Domino Club doesn't accept credit cards--cash only.
It's one of the funnest places. I love that part of the Island (rain forrest).

Hmmm. Now what does that tell us...?

All it tells you is that many small places don't accept credit cards because the percentage taken out by the cc companies defeats their objective of keeping their prices down. When you're working on a small profit margin your only resource to cover that percentage is to raise the price to your consumers.
If they took credit cards on a Kurt night you would never get a drink.
You pay ahead on a crowded Sunday night. No tabs.
