Good morning! I just moved to STT, and my dog will soon be joining me here. Are there any dog-friendly beaches here? Someone mentioned Hull Bay. What about good walking areas/parks? Thanks in advance.

I don't take mine to the beach but some friends go to the east end around Vessup.

I copied and pasted this from an earlier postof mine:

I like to take Freddy (my dog) to beaches that I can drive to, so I go to Hull Bay, Vessup, Little Magens/Platform, Lindqvist (when possible), Scott and I have access to one just East of Limetree (not sure of it's name), but it's got a gate for access that's locked. I think Freddy likes Hull the best, cuz he gets to see other people and dogs there...

Thanks to both of you. I will soon be bringing my dog to be here me, and I have been a bit nervous since I haven't seen many places to walk/run/play with dogs here. I appreciate your help! [Now if I can just find a condo in my price range that welcomes pets...]

Now, finding that condo is going to be a BIG problem....You may want to concentrate on apartments, instead...much larger market. Anyone have any advice on condos that accept dogs?

I don't know the budget but Frenchman's View (1 bedroom per unit) and Frenchmans Heights (2 BRs) do as do the condos across from Frenchman's View but they're more expensive (can't remember the name.) I don't know if there are any available for rent though.

Grandview Villas is the more expensive condo complex that I couldn't remember before.

Hull Bay is the spot on Sundays! Everyone bring your dogs! Mine is a white poodle schanuzer named Cali. She's ready for more friends. Come say hi!

I am planning on moving to STT and have 2 dogs. They are of course like children to me. Are there many vets to choose from on this island?

If you love your animals like I do, IMHO, there is only ONE..go to Dr. Trip Stewart at Imperial. Others may have good intentions...but, due to age, or whatever other reasons, they are not as nearly as good as Imperial.

LOL the Dr. Trip that is in trouble for smuggling gun silencers into the VI? yup, stellar guy!

He was recommended to me as well, but by the time I had to call upon his services, he was "unavailable"

Never got to meet Dr. Trip, but his replacement at Imperial is pretty good.

I wish Doc Napier had never left. He was excellent. I think Tripp Stewart's sentencing is in February. That's one weird situation.

Dr. John Moore in Red Hook, total thumbs up. Yes, one weird deal with Tripp.

When taking my Golden Retriever to the ocean for the first time, my vet warned me that drinking salt water is TOXIC to dogs and to be really careful. They could die I was told. Well, he seemed to do just fine, scooping up the foaming water as he dashed through it - much like he scoops up snow. Did a huge number 2 that was like the release of an enema then threw up mostly all water. He then drank almost a gallon of fresh water............hmmm.

" Did a huge number 2 that was like the release of an enema then threw up mostly all water."

Which is why dogs are not welcome at many beaches.
