my wife and i are going to spend two months at saphire beach resort and expected to take our small (20lbs) well behaved dog (andy) along. unfortunately, dogs are not allowed at the resort and we need to find some place or someone nearby to leave him with nightly. any ideas? thanks

Richard,

Search this board for "vets"- Dr. Williamson boards animals, as does our vet (Tripp Stewart of Imperial Animal Hospital- who is *excellent*). There are a few people who board/dogsit for a living- you can usually find their cards at the vets' offices.

Good luck!

Definitely go with Imperial. Trip is excellent and so is his staff. I would NOT go to Williamson. My dog got tick fever (erlichiosis - sp?), Williamson treated him (initially) and then we went off island and boarded him there, and when we took him home we pulled 22 ticks off of him! 22!! And this is a dog that almost died from tick fever! Sheesh! I heard that Williamson was a good vet in his day, but, his people skills are atrocious and apparently his kennels aren't quite flea and tick free.
