Age isn't relevant in most places unless you get stuck in a young tourist-related place where too often the disorganization runs rampant and the management's saving grace (and income) depends upon young cuties (both male and female) who can dish out the drinks while delightfully explaining why the apps have taken 45 minutes to arrive and then why the entree on the menu just isn't available...

It sometimes takes a while to find the right niche but there are many professionals here who look for genuine quality service and a good work ethic way over and above the all too typical "bimbo" showy snowbirds.

And for what it's worth, many other employers (hotels, offices) are eager to hire mature people. We do bring a certain work ethic that is getting increasingly hard to find. During my recent annual review, my boss congradulated me for always coming to work when scheduled! Now in my day that would have been a given, but here, where it's always sunny and the beach calls to the young, reliability is a sought-after commodity.
