Do People Leave Every Bit of Common Sense at Home When They Travel??
People in bikinis and swimming trunks on a small island in public does not bother me. As you travel further down island, clothes become more or less an option on the beach and covering up becomes simply having a top on. I say relax and quit letting the small stuff bother you. It's just the human body, we really shouldn't be too offended by seeing it.
Just my .02 cents.
IslandPilots: It does not bother you, but it does bother a number of the, perhaps prudish, locals. I believe that after you have lived here awhile, you will find that this is one of the charms of this place. I also disagree with you about "down island." The French islands have a French view on this, but people in Antigua and St Kitts are just as "bothered" by lack of clothes, if not more, than Virgin Islanders.
All I started out to say was KEEP YOUR FEET OFF THE COUCH.
Merry Christmas to all.
there used to be a law on the books that you had to be covered while in town...you could wear your bathing suit but you had to be decently covered (like java wraps), men and woman both and you had to have shoes of some sort on when going in stores. the police actually used to enforce said law and there was a fine if you did not comply...perhaps those days are over...
