dish tv
hi
do we get the dish anywhere down here? i know we get dish but do we get the use of the dish anywhere app
Yep, I use it quite a bit.
Yup...I use it all the time. DISH is your best bet for TV in the VI. Forget Innovative or Choice. They suck.
I get a kick listening to the Innovative ads. They say they have no rain fade.
Heck, they might not have rain fade when they are on the air. At least Dish is
on all the time. And all of the programming that i want to see is in HD.
And I have no rain fade anyway, but I'm using the big dishes.
I supported and promoted Dish for years (at least 12 as I recall) until recently when their customer service started to go downhill and my monthly bill kept going up and up with no explanation forthcoming. Contacting them by 'phone brought forth no intelligent response and six email communications were totally ignored - until I finally told them (same email address) to cancel my account which brought forth a flurry of "special offers" and pleas to continue the service. Both UPS and USPS said they've been doing a big surge in business lately with dissatisfied Dish customers cancellng their service.
Already with a landline and Innovative's internet, I got a package deal including cable and, even when the special introductory pricing is over, I''ll be saving over $50/month. And Innovative is just fine - in fact their DVR storage capacity appears to be much greater than Dish's - and two very minor glitches have very quickly been taken care of. It's been over two months now. The EVO system is good - and now when I go down to Innovative to pay my bill I don't see the usual line of people waiting to return their faulty receivers as was the norm in the past.
Innovative had a tough job cleaning up the years of Prosser's malfeasance and getting the system updated but I'm all for giving credit where it's due.
thank you all. i know a lot of times we can not use the same service they can in the states.
i have had innovative the whole time i have lived here-10 years. their service has never really been that great but i have dealt with some very nice people.
lately we have had 3 stations that just do not seem to work. we have called them numerous times, they have come out numerous times-still we can not use those 3 stations. i am just a bit fed up
we called and dish will be out tomorrow to hopefully hook it up
Hi,
If it helps, I have 3 receivers that I'm trying to give away before dumping them at the electronic dumpster.
I have no use for them, I don't know if they can be used, maybe you can ask your guy about it.
we called and dish will be out tomorrow to hopefully hook it up
If you need a Dish sling adapter I'll sell you mine cheaply (they retail for $49.99) and can mail it to STX!
Speedy, Will send you a PM
In order to Sling Dish Anywhere you MUST get a HD DVR.
In stock are the 722k or a Hopper with Sling.
The Hopper with Sling has a built in wireless adapter that will connect with your router and as the name applies, built in Sling adapter.
The 722K requires either a hard wired internet connection or an add on wireless adapter, as well as an add on Sling adapter.
Internet connection REQUIRED to Sling
The 211 family of receivers, (HD solo Non DVR) does not have the capability to Sling....

I have DISH for last 6-7 yrs. Prior to that I had Innovative Cable and thought the only thing innovative was the aost of the lack of service provived.
I can record what I wish whereas Innovative did not give me that option back then when I had Innovative cable. I do get (in heavy down pours) rain fade with Dish but I do not have a newer system. i have no idea about what SLING is. I watch/record TV at night to watch when I wish and have no desire to be tuned in on my cell or internet.
My bills come in on time and if there is an issue that I cannot resolve, myself, their customer service has been great and have had no problems.
At least, I can get them by phone and don't have to drag myself and malfunctioning equipment to their office and wait in long lines, for hours, for customer service.
In the years that I have used this service, I have had minimal issues and the ones I have had, have been my fault or a need for a new remote.
Granted, I probably pay more by NOT bundling phone, internet, cell and TV but am happier with what I get compared to what I used to get.
They may be better to deal with these days but I couldn't tell you. I dropped their Cable TV and have never had their internet.
