DISH NETWORK HELP
I'm on STT and have been paying AmericanDirect for network feeds for a few years. My contract with them just ran out so I called DISH today and am now getting NBC, ABC, FOX and PBS on local feeds which popped up with no problem so far. BUT, I was never able to get CBS and the DISH rep said today I would get this on Channel 8. This is coming up as "WSEEP" whose programming seems to have nothing to do with CBS.
I've been living without CBS for years so it's not a big deal but just wanted reassurance that CBS feed to STT is still in the dark zone. Thanks for any clarification!
WSEEP is the CBS affiliate provided by DISH. The guide information "mirrors" Channel 10 WVFX which is an Independent channel out of Puerto Rico. The guide is incorrect and DISH is aware of this. If you know when your program is on it should be there even tho the guide is wrong. DISH is working on a solution to this problem.
Oh crikey! Thanks for the info and I suppose I'll have to keep the TV supplement in the newspaper to see what I might be interested in until they fix the glitch. Somewhat technologically challenged at times, I'm glad it wasn't me messing up. Thanks again.
Here's the link to WSEE guide until Dish fixes this.

Excellent - thank you!

I have complained to DISH, Tribune Media (they provide the guide information to DISH ), CBS and directly to WSEEP on several occasions since October of last year and nothing has been fixed.
Apparently fixing a problem the effects a few thousand people isn't a priority for them.
We get CBS with Dish - not sure how 🙂

But, Pia, does your program guide on Channel 8 tell you what's actually playing? That's the issue and now I've discovered another problem.
I rarely watch "live" TV and record everything for viewing when I have time. The glitch here now is that although I can go to the link provided by SkysTheLimit and see what's scheduled (it's an hour off but I figured that out!) the DVR reads what the programing guide says. I can deal with recording NCIS and having it registered as a Mexican cooking program (!) but the problem is that NCIS is a one hour program and the Mexican cooking program is half an hour. So I have to program the DVR to record both the Mexican cooking program plus the next program, thus having two segments of a one hour show on playback. What a pain!
My next project is to start barraging DISH with letters and 'phone calls. 😀
Old Tart, I lost your phone #! Email me at yachtsbypamela@yahoo.com or call me?

We are on American Direct and we receive CBS NY AND SF markets. We did a DIY on Dish installation with no problems.

Once the local feeds became available on DISH and my contract with AmericanDirect ran out there was no point continuing to pay AD when I can get the feeds free. Hopefully this glitch of theirs with the CBS programing guide will eventually be fixed!

you got it Jim Dandy. Dish has +/_ 13 million subscribers? We are out on the fringe of Dish income stream.
I think the Puerto Rico market rules their Caribbean decisions.

We enjoy watching ad free the FOX stations! Our biggest problem is FOX -PR that runs commercials in the middle of a program. Watching an ad free station program is nice even if it is from different markets. CBS works great for us.
You can always stream your CBS programming from the internet.

I emailed the CEO at DISH this morning explaining the problem so will post an update when I hear anything.
The CBS programming on the WSEEP feed from PR is properly on the program guide as of today! 😀
