Did you get a phone call from the Governor?
I did. The phone rang & it was the Gov. talking about curfew & how Fema was standing by, etc. That's a first! Of course, it was a recording. 😉
I did too, about 6 last night; a little different than all the other Gov's........
got one too.

I'll say!!!
Me three. Didn't he do something like that when Lynn Spampinato (sp?) was up for confirmation?
It was just on the radio--the Gov STAYED on St Croix last night and is still here accessing things.
For anyone around since Hugo , we know this is a first. No one has ever stuck around; the head of the National Guard wasn't even here when Hugo hit and didn't return for several days.
I got the call too, very professional. I'm impressed that he stayed here in STX, of course that is the right thing to do.
Ironically when the governor called my DSL died, coming back after the phone call. Not sure why . What is so ironic about it is that Omar didn't knock my DSL out at all, I stayed online through the whole storm. Gov. Dejohn knocked me offline but the hurricane didn't 🙂

He also walked into Roger Morgan's show this morning to speak to he people!
I hope Roger Reminded him about the stimulous checks.
Received not one but two within 10 minutes
Tippi: He must really like you! 🙂
East Ender....ROFLMAO...Yea so much he's kept my Stimulus check! I would rather have the check than the 2nd call.
Tippi
The check probably PAID for the second call...
I am really glad everyone seems to have weathered the storm with little or no damage. I am anxious to have someone check out my house so I feel assured.
Anyway . . . with power out, if I had been on STX the only source for communication I would have had would be a battery radio. What station would be most likely to broadcast emergency information?
Oh man don't mention Hugo, I get goosebumps just thinking about my memories! How much inches of rain did you get on the island from Omar?
I don't think we received a phone call from the governor. Of course we were outside prepping. no message on answering machine either. about time we had someone in office who cared about "his" people. Bet the stim. checks blew again...???

Any local station will broadcast emergency info.
Thanks Trade.I rarely listen to radio but I guess in an emergency situation it would quickly become my new best friend. I would hate to get arrested because I failed to get a telephone call. I now just need to amke sure I get a radio signal 😉
