Hope Aussie emails back that he is ok.

I have heard that some staph infections can get really bad, really quickly.

Heh heh...thanks swans and islandjoan...you're both real sweethearts! 🙂

Uh...better. No chills and the headache has backed off some but wow this is really getting ugly. I'm all ballooned up and discolored. I'm hideous! LOL I'll give the antibiotics just a little more time to see if they can get ahead of this but I'm also getting things in line just in case I have to call upon friends to take care of my babies.

I've just gotta be home for the Jupiter sighting! 2022 is a long way away! I just love your posts on the space shuttle and other sights in the heavens, swan. Please keep them coming! I had no idea that there was a Red Spot Jr 😀

Thanks so much for your kind expressions.

There you are.

Thank you, Aussie. I sometimes wonder if all these great people think, "Here we go again...Swan, with her space station!"
And, Aussie, we appreciate you getting back with an update and that you have taken a step forward in conquering this terrible infection. Staph infections require diligent efforts; got to keep on top of it. Listen to Islandjoan.

I know exactly how you feel about the "babies". As a wildlife rehabilitator, I always plan for care of my "patients"...just in case!

And, by the way, Jupiter, the Big Red Spot, and Red Spot Jr. along with Jupiter's zillion moons will be there if you miss this event this time. Most important is seeing that Aussie is around for the sighting in 2022!

If it turns out that you do have dengue....... I had one type of it last year for just over three months. I am fortunate that I am connected with a couple of medical universities. Of all things, the only thing that Yale Medical recommends is the juice from a papaya leaf, about a tablespoon daily. It has some properties that not only help with the symptoms, but actually shorten the process as well.

In the information sent to me, this also will assist with all of the variations of Dengue Fever.

I'll keep you in both thoughts and prayers......I am terrified of every getting it again. Out of three months, all I can remember was one bowl of chicken soup.

Just as a post script, I found no conventional medication to be helpful at all, except Tylenol to help in keeping the fever somewhat in check (or, I just thought it did.....perhaps it did nothing.....)

All the best,

Dan

Perhaps this infection required hospitalization...
Staph infections can be absolutely awful as we all know. Hope you're okay,
Be tough, Aussie.

Aussie -

I sure hope your doctor knows what he's doing and that you get rid of whatever is trying to take over your body.

Aussie - glad your doctor is all over it...but...if it is spreading, and spreading rapidly, you might def. need hospitalization. Man I sure feel bad for you! Hope you beat it!

Aussie,

Thinking of you. Pop in and let us know how you are and if there is anything we can do for you? I'm not even sure where you live. Have you got enough food and water? Even though we are all cyber friends, we are here for you.

Aussie, You might want to try a specialist like a dermatologist. They should have more experience with this. That is what my wife did. This can get very serious!:-o

That's a great suggestion, Terry. Which dermatologist did your wife see? At this point, the hospital appears imminent.

I don't know what dermatologist Terry will say Aussie, but Dr Carolyn Merritt has had a very successful dermatology practice on island for several years. She is located next to Straker Motors --just north of Caribbean Auto Mart.

My wife waited a week until we got back to AZ. It was almost too late. Go to the one Jumbie suggested.

LOL...here's a STX classic to tickle your funny bone. I won't go into the question that brought about this response but get a load of this. I called the emergency dept at the hospital today, Sunday, and actually received this response:

"If you need emergency treatment, you should probably wait until tomorrow."

LOL...LOL...LOL...ROFL

Where but here? 😀

Unbelievable that an ER room at a hospital has a message machine taking calls instead of an actual person answering. Hope I never have an emergency. I know a nurse who works in ER @ the STX hospital and refers to this work place as "the pit of despair".

I may be reading this wrong, but I thought Aussie spoke to a PERSON who said to wait until tomorrow. As in -- we are too busy or a better doctor will be here tomorrow. I don't think, even here, an ER would have an answering machine.
