Mapp is trying to distract from subpoenas aimed at getting his and his staff's spending. The charge was in local court -- which he controls who gets prosecuted. Lends more credibility to the argument that there needs to be an independent Attorney General.

"Well my peace!" as old timers say.
If the VI Consortium sources are mistaken, they're in for a lawsuit.
If they're not, the whole house of cards and smoke and mirrors shall come tumbling down even more so than with the results of Alvin Williams', Jr. & Sr. arrests.
Let me know when they arrest Turnbull.

also said that Kimberly Jones could not confirm this .

And would this be an arrest on his owing the government 500,000.00, while the current administration is spending like mad.

Nothing like using the little fish for bait to catch bigger fish.
Wonder if there's a hook, line and sinker with Mapp's name on it!

There is a 11 am press conference, pretty sure it's real news

Mere speculation on my part but if it's related to Mafoliegate, then ex AG Frazier would be next, however, I'm more inclined to think as well that it's more closely related to John Woods indictment as he was the recipient of many of the architectural designs for government projects under the Dejongh administration and is his cousin.

Just heard in radio as well about 11AM press conference so guess we'll find for sure what's what.

It's a terrible thing that people entrusted with governing can and do betray the public trust.

There's more to come, no doubt!

My dear Alana....Thank you for your rousing news this morning! The wait has been long, but it is good to know that although God overslept, He is not sleeping now. His highest angel, Justice, has been dispatched. For without Justice, corruption reigns and affects every facet of our life. From roads that are not paved to libraries that never open. From egregious rum deals to sports complex scams. From collusion with Hovensa to the manipulation of paving bids. The only question left is just which crimes exactly are they charging him for this first time...
All parties are innocent until proven guilty etc...

Oh Happy Day!

I had promised myself not to post again until this day had come. Thank you Mr. Federal Government Special Corruption Division.

Nope. That dude was charged with conspiracy, embezzlement and fraud. Why is there a hospital named after him?

speee1dy, people are happy because it means that a certain amount of corruption within government will be stopped. DeJongh might name others in a plea deal, so if he does then a lot of corrupt gov't people will be stopped in their tracks.

From what I have heard from many local people, Juan Luis was the last honest governor here.

Melvin Evans 1971- 1975.

As for missjusticelaughslast - it wasn't my news so don't bother mentioning my name.
I see you have a new moniker.
Glad you can laugh as none of the corruption that is coming to the forefront can be considered a laughing matter.

Isn't this the same AGs office that argued the Supremacy Clause doesn't apply in the Virgin Islands (William Clarke case)? The same AGs office that had to expel numerous prosecutors and chiefs for practicing without a license? Or hiring chiefs who were disbarred in the states? :D:D

Why do we have such faith in the VI government all of a sudden? Mapp has admitted that he runs the AGs office as his personal law firm....

that is what this is all about? seriously. he tried to pay part and set up a payment plan and it was denied. so just more grandstanding by the new king in office.
