Dancing with the Stars needs a geography lesson.
So I just tried to vote online for Dancing with the Stars. I get a lovely message that voting is not allowed in my region.... because voting is only allowed in the US and it's territories. Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't we about to celebrate our centennial of being a US territory? Come on network, get your geography right....
"Sorry, voting is not available in your region.
Voting is limited to the United States and its territories."
LOL. Just another slap in the VI face.
It's the same for America's Got Talent I believe. Puerto Rico is the only territory that can vote.
Contact them directly and let them know. Unfortunately it's not an uncommon mistake.
Update:
Here's the contact info where you can directly address it (I did):

My email was responded to with a "no reply" email which was helpful only in that one of the links provided led to an email address for the person in charge of DWTS programming, etc. I don't even watch it but my Community/Good Samaritan hat seems to be tilted positively today so, amongst all my chores, I'll update if and when I get an answer.
They are telling us something. No voting on DWTS, America's Got Talent, Presidential Elections... voting is dumb. 😉
I have hbo now. They opened it up to us about a month ago. It's cross platform supposedly but only use on my Roku for now.
The only mistake was probably by the company's ambiguous use of the word "territories", when they probably meant just Puerto Rico. We learned that the hard way when we brought our XM receivers here years ago because the web page said XM would work in the US territories. When we finally got someone on the phone, they told us that the licensing for territories only applied to PR. We also couldn't stream Amazon video when we first got here. VI doesn't seem to be locked out by geo-blocking as much any more, but I still see it sometimes. It all depends on the medium's licensing agreements.
To get around it, you can use a proxy. But that can theoretically get you black-listed from the site if they find out.
