Curly haired girls...
Hi all! I'm hoping someone has been in my shoes before and could help me out! I just recently relocated to STX from NYC and am in need of a great curly haircut, lol! I've only been able to find 3 stylists that catered specifically to curly hair (in the states and PR), but haven't had such luck yet here. Anyone on the board have the curly cues that can recommend someone who REALLy knows what they're doing? Or even specialize in the curly dos?! Pls help! 🙂
depends on what you mean by "curly"... are you white, black, or other? and if so, is you hair more debra messing or erykah badu?

I thought I should've added those details.... Hispanic, with long curly " Debra Messing" type hair. It's a little thin & frizzed easily! Hope that'll help get me a good stylist! 🙂
alright then! now, i wear dreadlocks and personally i never visit hair salons. but i am certain that someone will chime in.
plus, i live on st. thomas, or i'd suggest someone that i have heard good things about...
crucian massive! help a sister out, she don't wanna look all to' up!
Hi dcruz218:
Sorry, I know nothing about Crucian hairdressers, but I can suggest generally that you look for a Dominican-run shop. They are awesome with hair that runs from straight to heavily kinked. There are some here in STT and I would certainly bet that St. Croix has them.
Best,

On STX, try Lydia's (sp) at Sunshine Mall (Kmart West).

My hair is much curlier then yours and I haven't found anyone on stx that I will go back too. Luckily mine grows soooo slowly I'm usually stateside by the time my ends get split. Its sad but it does seem to take a little practice and specialization to cut curly hair well. If you find anyone in your search please post back so I can give them a try if I haven't already. 🙂
I had mine done by Kelsey at Indulgence a couple of months ago, and it wasn't good. Mine's not curly--just enough of a wave pattern to screw up straight cuts, but not enough to really curl. But she got it so short that it stood straight up, and I just wasn't happy with it.
