Hello folks, the crime report that was in the newspaper is the original topic. Name calling isn't adding anything to the discussion.

Sorry Islander. It wasn't my intent to be a name caller. I should have said trollish behavior. Posts designed to incite discontent.

Jane, I based my assumption that you hate the island and have had bad experiences here by your previous postings. Most of the worst ones however have been removed. I do believe that all regular readers and posters do remember your experience with your daughter in public school which I believe you described as the worst experience of your life, along with animal cruelty, poverty, police and government corruption ect. All these things as describe by you were cited reasons for you leaving the island. All these things greatly distressed you as described by your postings. In any case those were your experiences here and you have the right to express that on this board. Your experience may help others to avoid the same pitfalls. My only concern is you don't seem to have anything proactive to say only negative inciteful postings. I am not the moderator so if Islander doesn't have a problem with it, ok. I only offer my input as a balance between our experiences.

Name calling directed towards myself doesn't bother me at all. I left that behind in grade school. However my entire family is having a great time with simple minded ninny. My new nickname around the house for now. Where I come from a ninny is what a woman's breast is called while she is nursing her baby. LOL

Come'on guys this is getting really old ya'll are just ganging up on jane like a bunch of teenage girls with call waiting. You dont like Jane we all get it. I think its a little disgusting ganging and move we put an end to the thread if people cant get back to the subject at hand.

This started out as a good thread with some info that people relocating here should be made aware of, lets all stick to the issue and stop rehashing old posts and perceived insults and MOVE ON. Islander asked us to stick to the thread topic, lets try that shall we??? If you don't have something to post about crime, dont post it.

I think that 1st amendment rights are one of the joyous benefits of living in our society. Who cares if folks don't like your opinions? I enjoy reading the posts of those who are protective and defensive of V.I. as much as those who are critical of it.

Well Betty that sure is the pot calling the kettle black. In any case I don't think anyone expressed any personal dislike of anyone. Jane is an adult and certainly able to defend her position. Have a good day.

How presumptious to make blanket statements that someone "hates it here" - if that isn't an inciteful statement I don't know what is.

No-one is saying that there is nothing good about the USVI. Read the posts. What they are saying is that there was an article in the paper citing crime statistics. Any intelligent person moving to another locale would be interested in such information. If you have a beef with the article, write a letter to the editor, but don't kill the messenger.

Are you all wearing rose colored glasses down there, or what?? Perhaps too much sun, I think.

Um, multiple personalities maybe? Some of these posters are one in the same.

There is no 1st amendment rights on this board. 1st amendment only protects your free speech from the Government . This is a privately owned message board, controlled by the moderator/owner Known as islander. Islander makes the rules for the board and enforces them. If you go to the search section, you're able to review past posting by all who are registered and have posted on this board. You will get a pretty good feel about the poster opinions on the various subjects they participate in or originate. Crime is always a problem thread, the people that live on the islands are aware of crime and have discussed it ad nausea. You can go to search and type in the word crime and read all about it.

Good advice Lizard. I wish I had been as controlled in my responses as well. I just had a couple of those drama queen days. Have a good night.

It's going down hill quick. I like this forum, but I think many of you are better than keeping this up... RIGHT?

(Or am I just too new to know that this is regular behavior on here?)

my final thoughts, jane left us,we did not leave her, she gave up and left, thats fine,but i also think that once you leave here you should probally stop posting after one or 2 initial post leave postings, simply explain why you left, what you liked or did not like and leave it at that, there are more than enough of us that do LIVE here to carry the torch.
