One of the draw backs about Condo Row is Harbor View projects, 100 units of Section 8 housing with the occasional gun shots and the drop out wannbe gangsters. Then there's the notice and fumes from the power plant and sewage discharge. But, to each there own. Lots of Fast Food if you're into it.

We stayed at Colony Cove 9 years ago. I was really put off by the barbed wire fencing decor, the beach security guard, and sitting on the balcony looking through bars. But that was then. Don't know if it's changed since they became gated.

9 years ago is a long time. I wish you didn't post your comment from so long ago.

You should rent a condo and get a beautiful view from the open gallery(no bars) of the ocean, well maintained pool and awesome garden.
No barbed wire fencing!

We went to Colony Cove Last weekend and I don't think there was any barbed wire, but most of the bars are off the windows. It is the preference of the individual Condo owners. Someone who lived there said they have taken theirs off and haven't had any problems. They have tightened their security and are putting cameras in too.

My remark was an anecdotal follow up to the comment regarding their proximity to the projects, and the extremes they felt they had to go to for security back then. Nothing more. I would hope that anyone considering buying/renting would be smart enough to look at the current security, and environment, as the surrounding housing remains and the violence still happens. I'm glad the gating and other security upgrades allowed them to improve the lock down appearance. The residents were friendly, and the grounds were lovely.

Now I have the pleasure of being an agent in Kim's St. Croix Island Life Real Estate team.

So you are working with Joel too? I still have his lock box.
