My 12 year old is looking to do volunteer work for school required community service hours.
Any suggestions?

All 3 islands have animal shelters that are always in need of volunteers.

if you are on stx, the home for the aged is a nice choice. you could always check out the queen louise home too

What is your child interested in? That should be the focus, imo. Community service as a student should expose them to possible career paths even outside the nonprofit sector. Is your child interested in natural conservation, historical representation, animal rights?
It shouldn't be about what forumites know/like/suggest.

Yes, on St Croix. She is an animal lover and would like to do.something with animals. I would also like to expose her to something out of her comfort zone or something she wouldn't normally want or think ofto.do...maybe queen Louise or elderly community.
