Cisterns.... Keepin' it wet.
Doesn't really matter. If they get sick, they get sick and they're not in the states, drinking tap water any longer.
Yours doesn't come out of a tap?
The only long term ill effects I remember hearing about cistern water was years ago there was a report of older residents who were very mineral deficient because of drinking only rain water for years had depleted the trace elements normally replenished and present in groundwater and a weekly OTC mineral supplemented was recommended.
I personally do take a mineral supplement because of that idea which seemed to be a reasonable theory.

You were speaking of stateside tap water not how I get my water.
Why so combative?
Good grief, forgive me for interjecting a little levity. Combative? Crikey, lighten up!
I don't have to lighten up.
You do.
Are you two related? You sound like a couple of siblings fighting over nothing.:D
Almost as much fun as the "Clown Car" politics over here.:P
Please make up - we need your positive input.

I did.
I drank ours for quite a while with no issues but eventually installed some filters by the pump. Im somewhat glad given what i find in those filters when i change them 🙂
On a side note my doctor recommended a prescription floride toothpaste because of the absence of floride in cistern water and because I have children in the house .
