Write in votes are counted manually. Anyone can be written in and be elected.

Nothing forbids her from being sworn in since her pardon.

They didn't count the write in votes manually for primary and machine vendor wasn't available for today's meeting to discuss write ins.

"The Elections System supervisor has ruled that Sen. Alicia "Chucky" Hansen’s name will not be included on the November general election ballot, but officials and Joint Board of Elections members said Friday that they expect Hansen’s camp will soon take the matter back to court."

Fawkes, however, said afterward that Hansen’s camp brought the pardon to her office Thursday afternoon and, at the time, she told them that based on the court’s decision, Hansen’s name would be off the ballot.

“I stand on my decision that she was qualified before, but now with the court order, it has to be set aside,” Fawkes said. “And just like I got a court order to take her off, I need a court order to put her back on, so I expect this to go back to court soon. If I get another court order to put her back on the ballot, that’s what I’ll do.”

the chucksters supporters filed an action in federal court that is to be heard on thursday in federal court.

Crooked governor pardons crooked senator. I am glad so many are now finally seeing the light. DeJongh is as reprehensible as I have always held him out to be.
We are in for more bad news. The same electorate reelected deJongh after learning that the US Inspector General said he improperly removed money to enhance his home. That is the same electorate that elected Chucky in 2010 while she was still serving her sentence. Senator Sanes voted to give a tax evading former First Lady and all other First Ladies free money which Chucky cosponsored and the governor signed. This same electorate may just write her name in. Chucky will print stickers and they will paste it on the ballots. And now Chucky has to vote for whatever scam the governor comes up with next. So much for separation of powers.

She was not even eligible to vote, and because she did vote, she committed federal voter fraud. Is the US Attorney listening?

And Raymond Williams and Rupert Ross need to be voted out of office or even prosecuted for allowing her to vote and run in 2010 while she was still serving her sentence.

The more and more I read the more I think she'll weasel her way on the ballot.

If it's a write-in then stickers should be disallowed. Otherwise all we need is one person in the back room putting a bunch of stickers on ballots - ripe for election fraud.

Well, you're right of course. But a few cases of writers cramp may at least deter fraud.

Did you catch any of the BBC footage of them comparing election ballots after the recent election in Afghanistan? It was great stuff. With a rep from each party, plus an international observer at each table, they were comparing ballots checking for similarities/fraud. Even with all the scrutiny they still couldn't agree on the outcome. What little chance do we have here 🙂

If people on this board that live in STX and do not vote, then your voices shall not be heard. If you are living there and not registered to vote then you have absolutely no right to complain. Register to vote and make sure Chucky doesn't get re-elected by write-ins this election and keep her out.

Stickers won't feed through the machine, and should be banned. "Write In" not "Sticker In". Stickers should not be counted as votes.

Fellow bloggers, Senator Diane Capehart has had the courage and the moral compass to come out and ask for for Chucky to be moved from the senate now. Acting Senate President Samuel Sanes so far has not agreed to her request for a hearing on this matter. Senator Capeharr is the lone voice in the senate to have the first branch of government correct the wrong that happened when a convict serving her sentence was illegally placed in the ballot and seated in 2010.

Please join me in calling your favorite senators and ask them to turn the VI away from the rule of lawlessness. Call Sanes at 3407732424. Call any senator at the Senate 3407732424 which is the main line if the legislature in Stx. For Stt call 3407740880 and ask for any senator it is time to end Hansen's illegal, immoral, and now compromised reign.

PS. While Chucky was still serving her sentence, she win and sat in a seat, leaving Diane Capehart who ran eighth place that year to be denied her rightful seat in the 29th legislature. Now Chucky is waging a campaign with her supporters to get this brave senator out.

With only 3 months left in her term, and a possibility that she'll be reelected, why bother?

Her support gets stronger with each action taken against her. Best to keep her out of the news, imo.
