Choice Internet Service (should it be the LAST choice?)
Am I the only idiot giving these guys money?
I've tried 3 different speeds of their internet & at night (when typical traffic would be heavier) the speeds drop to almost unusable.
Is this why i see a lot of threads on BBVI here, was I just stupid to go with choice?
at night I often just tether my AT&T phone if I want to watch netflix or play an online game, the "service" I'm paying $75 a month for currently is almost unusable.
The only people I know that don't use BBVI are those who do not have line of sight to one of their towers. Is BBVI somehow not an option for you?

I'm fairly new, just didn't know... when I move to the house I'm buying hopefully it will work out (Carlton area of STX) I'll definitely be switching to BBVI

I think this is correct. I am on the north side of STT and choice works pretty good here. I notice sometimes when watching videos online it stutters but nothing too bad. Supposedly there is a tower in sight... someone said inner brass but I don't think thats right.
I am on the north side as well and had Choice for many years until they started selling cell phones and raffeling off cars, then the service went to hell in a handbasket so I switched to BBVI. You do have to have line of sight, I believe. I was on the Inner Brass tower but that was having problems so they switched me to the Crown Mountain tower. Their service, speeds and billing which drove me crazy with Choice are great.

Ahhh. Well I wish you luck in the place. I used to live in Carlton and unfortunately did not have line of sight. But I was up the hill in a little valley, so I think my position was more unique than the rest of the area.

I'll be just east of the old hotel (I could almost throw a stone and hit it) so I think my chances of LOS (line of sight) are fairly good.
The only good thing about Choice is when they launched their higher speed 4G Internet service BBVI as a competitive response upped the speeds on their Internet offerings.
my AT&T hotspot is 10-20 times faster than choice again tonight....
I'm paying choice for 5mb/s my phone gets around 1.2mb/s pretty consistantly... choice is giving me about 60kb/s.... I've basically time traveled back to 1995 and my trusty 56k modem.......
Faster than Choice tonight? LOL my Choice isn't working at all tonight. Relegated to doing my web surfing from my iPhone.

I gave up a few hours ago, maybe it is down.. haha luckily I have the trusty hotspot... I bet I'll never be able to unload this stupid choice wimax modem.
oh well, live and learn...
Went into their Peters Rest location this morning to find out what happened. The CS rep said their system went down yesterday afternoon. No cell or internet service for hours... smh
