Chef clogs on STT?

I'm not sure which shoe you refer to, and they may not have them...but www.sierratradingpost.com has sent to me via USPS many times in the past per my request...give them a whirl. I know they handle Birks and Dansko, I just don't know if they have your favorite kind or not. I'm on STX, but I've never had a problem at all. They have a section under footwear for men's clogs and mocs.

Also zappo.com.

The post office in Red Hook has a system of their customers ordering anything online that can't be shipped here to an Carolina address. They then ship it from there to here using the USPS. So, in other words, items that only ship to the continental U.S. can be ordered thru their service to be shipped here.

I can't seem to say it clearly, but hopefully you understand. Good luck on your shoe searching.

sttmike: BAAD and testy STT Resident here. If you do a google on "Chef shoes Birkenstock" you'll find a whole slew of information and outlets. Some specifically say that they will only ship to US street addresses, others will only ship within continental (contiguous) states.

We are in the USPS system here so unless the shipper specifically states, "contiguous States" you're safe. Some won't ship to PO Boxes anywhere, period.

HOWEVER, I've basically generally not had a problem ordering things from stateside to be shipped USPS to the VI (always with insurance) when I've emailed the seller to ask them about shipping to the VI. There are innumerable sellers who assume that the VI is "foreign" and are surprised to learn that we have a US zip code.

Hope this helps and my sometimes testiness is simply a by-product of "Gee whiz, ho-hum, why don't they do their research!"

I am a HUGE clogs fan from way back. I have bought Birks at the place in Mongoose Junction (Big Planet?) and Naots at Tradewinds on the waterfront as well as at Keep Left at AYH. However, my two new favorites are Merrills (have a sneaker bottom- very comfy) and Borns. But I bought them in the states on my last visit...

In the hopes that getting something from STX to STT would be next easiest to buying it on your island or STJ, I recall seeing a local TV commercial for an STX store that plays up that they carry Birks in the ad. But darned if I'm not having a senior moment about the name of the place. Even a pretty thorough search of the www.viphonebook.com site failed to trigger it. Any other STXers know what place I'm referring to?

That's zappos.com They ship here; I buy most of my shoes from them. You can also use the 'new' chef's shoe Crocs. They are readily available here as well.
