cheapest way to get from STT to Jamaica?
Have someone visiting over Xmas and they want to spend a week in STT with us and then a week in Jamaica, flying home from Jamaica... any ideas how to get to Jamaica cheaply? she said the flight from STT to Jamaica is as much as her flight here from the states... any boats that go there?
If she has not booked her tickets already if she did a 3 way flight as opposed to 2 roundtrips that is typically cheaper.
I'm assuming you have already called the typical Caribbean airlines like Sun Country, Jamaica Air, Cape Air, Seaborne Airlines etc.
There are no boats that go from STT to Jamaica, it is too far away. The only way to get there is to fly from STT to Miami, connect there and fly to Jamaica. I know it sounds far-fetched to have to fly up and down again, but it is the only way to get from STT to Jamaica without having to do an overnight in either St. Maarten or Antigua (which would ultimately be more expensive than flying through Miami). I've done a 3-way trip like this before, and am going to do one again this December (Boston-Jamaica-St. Croix-Boston), and the trick is to do all your flying with American, since it's the only airline that flies ALL the routes that I need to go on. It will be MUCH more to fly on different airlines in the route. Flying with American, though the cheapest, will cost me about $1000, though, so it's not cheap. Also, 2 round trips would not be cheaper in this case, because a roundtrip from the VI to Jamaica is about $600. By the way, what city are they flying from?
hmmm ok. they are flying in from Minneapolis. they quote she got is about $1000, so i think that's about on par with what you're saying. thanks for the help! was hoping there was some "locals only" sneaky way to get there cheap 🙂 but i guess this is what they'll have to do~ thanks again
