CHEAP RUM PRICES
We are comming down again next week and when we come home we want to bring home some of the CRUZAN CREAM RUM. When we bought it before it was at one of the shops in downtown Christansted. I'm sure there must be a cheaper place to purchase.
How much can we bring back to the states, isn't it a 6 pack with each person?
Thanks Terry
Hello Terry,
6 bottles duty free per person but you can take more than 6 bottles. You will just pay customs on bottles 7 and up when clearing customs at the airport.
K-mart or Cost U Less might be cheaper.

why don't you take a trip to the distiller? You can buy the rum right there.

Thank You for the input

Just don't check it on the way home. You can use it as a carry on that doesn't count as your one item allowed. (on most airlines). We checked ours last time and it was long gone.
Some jewerly stores also sell booze. If you are buying gold or diamonds I have often got the store to give me a bottle or two of rum or scotch. Doesn't hurt to ask.
My wife buys lot of things and bring her friends in when they visit so the owner is happy to supply me with "pain killer".

Hey, Jim,
Working in the jewelry buisness, I can tell you that you actually paid for that rum or scotch by over paying for the gold or diamonds. The only true 'gifts' are the one's that a salesperson buys and keeps to give to his customers. Anything that the buisness is paying for, you are paying for, too. Try this experiment: Go in and haggle your best price on a diamond with a bottle of rum or scotch, and have your friend/spouse go in separately and haggle for the same item without the rum/scotch. Guess who will get the best price? It's just a sales game.
