Changing address for property tax bill - STX

I don't live on the STX land I bought several months ago, and the property tax bill this year went to the former owner's address. Fortunately, he was ahead on his payments, so there was no problem. However, at some point, I'm going to need to get this changed to my own address! I assume there is an office somewhere where I can go to do this. Where is it, and what information/paperwork do I need to take with me? (Or if anyone has a phone number, I'll call the office myself and find out. Any help would be appreciated!)

Thanks for your help!

I've been changing our address with the tax office every year for 5 years. Never seems to "take". Talking about property tax, however, same with IRB.

In person also. I've watched her type it into the computer. Still goes to old address.

Well, from here you can search and find your account and/or parcel, and verify what address they actually have in their computer

http://public.usvi.cavucorp.com/logon.htm

So you can verify what is actually in their system. I know this is updated from their database as when changes are made I do see them here shortly later.

I believe that usually they don't actually 'change' the address to yours until the tax billing year has caught up to when you had purchased it, and in the meantime you are just the C/O address

I called the tax assessor's office and had them email me the tax bill. She changed my address and so far I have been getting the bills here 🙂 at my address not the old owner's

Thanks for your help. I'll call asap.

For those who are still seeing your bill go to the old owner or old address, how do you go about paying your bill so you don't get hit with late fees, etc.?
