What cell phone service is on St. Croix?

We use Verizon now but I have only seen mention of AT&T and Sprint.

It would help a lot for us to know what cell service we should get there and how good the service is on the island.

Thank you very much,
Joan

Verizon doesn't work very well in VI.
My cousin was visiting over Christmas and he couldn't make any calls at all.

AT&T is best.

I used to have Verizon, however Verizon considers the USVI international, hence outrageous international calling fees.
AT&T considers the USVI part of the United States not International, hence no additional fees to call anywhere in the continental US.
I find my reception also much better everywhere with AT&T.

I'll never go back to Verizon

I've been told "Verizon recently changed their coverage. St. Croix is now part of their domestic plans. no roaming charges." I've not had any issues with AT&T coverage.

Yes they have changed their plan structure, but you need to be on the newest plan though. I have had both as I switched from Verizon to AT&T back to Verizon.

AT&T is best in STX, Verizon is very spotty unless you are in the middle of the island for data. Calls aren't bad unless you are way out east. Which I don't get because they would be using the towers AT&T and Sprint use, but that's another discussion.

I went back to Verizon as they are much better in the states and I spend 48 weeks here.

Does anyone use T-Mobile in VI? I prefer T-Mobile over AT&T for their international coverage and data plans. Not sure how well it will work in VI tho.

I have heard T-Mobile is unreliable in the VI. Anyone else?

My wife's cell is T-Mobile. I think it works more or less. Don't use it too often.

There is Verizon? My store here could not tell me if they offered service on St. Croix. I have been waiting to replace my cracked screen because I didn't think they had service there.

It would be great if there was Verizon coverage.

Thanks,
J

Yes, I see that Verizon has gone to domestic charges on St. Croix:

Maybe there service will improve.

Thanks, everyone!!
