Car part stuck in customs.
So my car has been at the shop for almost 2 weeks now. The mechanic says that the part has been "stuck in customs". New to the island so can someone help me understand what this means and is there a way around it.
Thank you,
Torresteach
It MAY mean that the person or Customs broker that the mechanic uses has not had time to go and pick it up - you might be able to get the invoice from the mechanic and go to Customs yourself and find out the problem, it could be that there isn't enough info from the shipper that allows Customs to assess the proper fee. Which island?
call ( where your part is stuck) and find out what is going on. see what they tell you. hopefully it will be something quick and easy.
We just had a shipment "stuck in customs" and were told that they are "way behind" andthey don't care how long they hold people's stuff. It took about 5 days longer than usual.
crazy especially the not caring
Sounds like a stall tactic to me*-)
