Car insurance
Hey folks,
I'm about to ship my car to St. Croix (a 2000 Chevy Cavalier convertable) and I'm wondering which auto insurance companies on island offer the best rates. I'm over 27 and a really safe driver!! What can I reasonably expect to pay per year, ballpark?
Thanks,
Kate
STJ: like 80$ per year.
OK, one more reason to move to the islands. That car would cost over $700 to get coverage in NH and more in other New England States.
I think Chris must have forgotten a zero. We have a two-car policy on STT, both are 90's cars and not fancy, and our annual policy is around $1200.
$80 per year : )
Chris.... you ok?
JET
oh sorry 180$
It is cheap on STJ.
the 'chris' price is minimal coverage-- just liability. no theft, no collision, no nothing else. i dont have any new enough cars to worry about it, but i believe the st john insurance company doesnt even offer collision for any car more than 2 years old =)
sooo, i second chris's $180/yr price.
I have never been in an accident in my life. And I believe insurance is something that is like kissing your sister. My first car I bought was a ford festiva in MN back in 1993. The car was brand new and I was 19. The new car was like 5500$. Well for full coverage insurance, it cost me OVER the price of the actual car in four years. I never made one claim against them. And they gladly took my money. I hate insurance. The only good insurance is homeowners. If you can get health insurance through work, you might be getting a decent deal but if you are healthy, you are just paying for all the sick people out there. I guess bad things happen but if you are a good driver, chances are you wont make a claim and just fill the coffers. Insurance shouldnt cost more than 180$ FOR A BEATER. Insurance companies have made tens of thousands off me.
