Car insurance STX
Well I know by now that Geico is not good in St Croix... And I can't use USAA, does any one know if AARP which I use in my house , can I use it for car insurance in St Croix? If not what insurance people recommend .... also I am trying to make a decision if buying a 4 door jeep in florida and transport it or buy it in the island.
I think USAA is available here but other than that, you'd have to contact one of the local brokers because the USVI is a very closed market for insurance with only a few players.
We switched a couple of years ago from Marshall Sterling on STX (First Insurance) to Real Legacy on Puerto Rico who is affiliated with AARP. Same coverage and it saved us about $437 annually. Still with them and no issue to date.
Regardless, wherever you get auto insurance, it's a scam here in the islands. Little coverage and high premiums is the norm. IMO, although required, it is useless compared to a comparable policy in the States.

We have had great experience with Marshall & Sterling in STX. Reasonable price and very responsive during the claim process (we've had two claims).
Thanks everyone for the information
